About
Margaret Ellen Whitfield spent thirty-eight years as a labor and delivery nurse in the Chelan Valley, and she liked to say she had held more newborns than she could count and remembered every single one of their mothers.
She was steady in a crisis and hopeless at sitting still. Her garden ran wild with roses she refused to prune properly, and there was always a half-finished watercolour drying on the porch rail. She wrote thank-you notes by hand, on paper, for everything.
Margaret is survived by her husband David, their two sons, five grandchildren, and roughly half of Chelan County, all of whom she considered family.
