About
Buddy came home in the summer of 2012 as an eight-week-old golden retriever who could not yet manage the porch steps. He figured them out by Tuesday and never slowed down again.
He was a lake dog through and through — first in the water, last out, and always carrying a stick roughly twice his size. At home he was gentle enough to let the grandkids use him as a pillow, and patient enough to wait by the door for hours if someone was late.
After twelve years, three moves, and one very memorable encounter with a skunk, Buddy passed peacefully in March 2025 with his head in his favorite person’s lap.
